iLASIK Procedures

I posted few months ago that my mother had undergone an eye operation which was unsuccessful. The said experience was a traumatic one for her . I was researching some painless eye operation online to at least give her hope and have another surgery to consider.

Today, I read this article about Modern LASIK. I was curious about this procedure and I learned so much about it and who benefit the most. They call it iLASIK procedure because it uses two lasers. The first laser is used to make a thin flap in the area of cornea . This flap enables the surgeon to make the iLASIK correction. Then, the second laser is used to make the correction to the cornea based on individuals vision and eye characteristics. This dual innovation on laser technology is completely computerized, clinically safe and virtually painless. This is what my mother needs.

There was a study conducted to 100 military personnel and they undergone a Military Evaluation of Modern LASIK and the results showed that 95% of them have 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. This 20/20 term is known to be the baseline and the standard for a good vision which a military personnel should have. The lower the second number, our vision would be better it says.

Now, this procedure really helps the military personnel because they can perform their work better with good vision without the trouble of wearing contact lenses and glasses. I had just known that an aviator like fighter pilots usually have 20/15 vision. That is amazing! Some of them who undergone iLasik procedure highly recommends this type of surgery to other naval aviators.

t is very understandable why the Department of Defense (DOD) and NASA recommended this all-laser form of LASIK as a means to improve the vision of U.S. military, NASA personnel and Aviators because they are always indulge in intense and demanding conditions at work. According to Steven Schallhorn, M.D., a retired U.S. Navy captain and leader of clinical research and studies, says that DOD and NASA recognized LASIK as the leading eye procedure which is safe and effective. Take it from their word. Visit their website now.
