Remembering Corazon "Cory" Aquino

UMAC Balikbayan Box Tracking

I sent 8 Balikbayan Boxes to the Philippines using UMAC Express Cargo. From pick-up to delivery, will be two months. Since there is an UMAC office in our city, the arrival date is on time. All the items in the box was accounted for but, not everyone was happy with their services. I had known that PEANUTBUTTER , not her real name lost a camera worth $2oo. She had some expensive items in the box but, only one was stolen.

Heavy Traffic in Biloxi

These pictures were taken at Biloxi, Mississippi nearby IP Hotel and Casino. We are on the bridge heading to the I-10 US Highway and too late to turn and go back. If you think that these cars are moving, you are wrong. We kept wondering why we are not moving? Probably, there was a nasty accidents ahead. Wrong again! At 2 PM, there were workers on the bridge fixing something important. I have no problem about that. My complain was, they could have put the signs before the turn. From Beau Rivage Casino Hotel at Highway 90, there was no signs telling the motorists to find another route because "MEN ARE WORKING AHEAD!" NOTHING!

Our car is on the second lane so, the other two lanes on the right will merge up ahead. Behind us, it was four lanes so, expect a really slow movement here. That signs showed up in the middle of the traffic. It forfeit the purpose really. Oh by the way, there are no exits on this area. Imagine how frustrated we are.

Four lanes merged now into ONE! And the workers on the bridge? You can count those who are really working! Dang! I saw few of them were talking and maybe, taking a short break. I just hope that whoever is incharge of this department would see to it that the road signs and warnings are in the right places to avoid this incident.

We went to Gulfport, Mississippi earlier to see the back-to-school sales in Old Navy and Ross Department Store. I wanted to buy school shoes and school bags for my "Pamangkin" in the Philippines. It's been a while that I did not post pictures of the city I live in right now. So, I have to show you some of the pictures that I took and keep in my folder. US Highway 90 is the daily road that I traveled and these are the scenery. This is part of the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.This area is called a Schooner. We never stopped by in this place. We will in the future. I plan to take the Ship Excursions and this place probably offered one. This is the beach nearby Hard Rock. It is a long beach and some areas have groups of people who go for swimming, boating and just enjoying the sun bathing.

At the right side is The Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino. This road is heading to the bridge connecting the Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Did you know that if there is a big hurricane, this road is flooded as deep as 12 feet or more?

You can use this camcorder as a web cam. It is very clear and one of the features that I like. I might keep this and buy another camera. I will decide on Monday. The pictures are not as good as my Kodak though. I tried to snap a picture while we are on mobile, the result is blurry. In my Kodak it is not. Oh by the way, most of my road trip Kodak pictures were taken on mobile with 45 to 60 mph speed. I can't deny that this is really a good buy though.

I have written 9 posts for Paying Post Company. That started last November. I seldom grab the opportunity because I find it weird because they will pay me if I reach $25. I have $19 at that time.

So, I tried grabbing one more opportunity. It reached to $32. They issue another memo that there are changes made. Instead of $25, they will pay the bloggers when they reach to $50.

I ask some of the bloggers if they were paid. One of them said, she was paid anyhow. So, I grabbed another opportunity and my money reaches $52. WALLAHHH! Another memo came. They will only pay once I reach $100.

Now, that is really FISHY huh? Read through this article of Mommy Dharlz: BEWARE, PayingPost.com is a Scam. She had more than a hundred but, never get paid. For so many months she had more than a hundred, that is really alarming. She sent them inquiry and they don't reply.

I cut my loses while its still $52. I erase my account. I deleted my reviews because I do not want to give traffic to Payingpost.com. My rate for them is ZERO and I guess Mommy Dharlz is right.

St. Patrick's Hospital in UK: Legitimate or Bogus?

We heard it over and over again how people get scammed and yet, others are still waiting to be the next victim.

I woke up early today and my mind still wondering how could it be possible that a big company (supposedly) can only use a yahoo email. There is nothing wrong in using yahoo services but, if you own a company, usually they have a paid email address. Sounds odd to me that a certain St. Patrick's Hospital which is (supposedly) based in UK will use a yahoo email account. Not yahoo.uk but plain yahoo.com. Sounds odd to me that I CAN NOT FIND THE EXACT ADDRESS 0f the hospital IN UK using my GOOGLE EARTH. Isn't it odd that the phone number given was only a personal cell phone number, not the company phone? Isn't it odd that the name DR. PATRICK COLE was mentioned in thescambaiters.com? If this is a legitimate company (which I will be praying it would....i hope ) then, I wish my "KABABAYAN" good luck. I am just so worried with these early hunches regarding the email add, phone number, hospital address and the name of the doctor. This person is hiring workers in CDO, some of them paid the recruiter with 150 pounds.I know some of them give the money. And I am worried.

If you have readers in UK, please help me ask them if the name of the doctor existed in UK and if that hospital will soon operate. Yep, it did not exist yet. I can not find the hospital name in Regent Park Southwest London. Is it in Barnett, Camden, Westminster, Newham? The address on the letters attached to the mail given to the applicant has none of those and no area code. 150 pounds is BIG MONEY to just give away and I do not want to see another Filipino family give it away and lose at the end.

Shrimp Season in Biloxi

My husband and I went to Hard Rock today to purchase my Air Supply Ticket for tonight's concert. Two days ago, I was so hesitant because I want to watch it with him. But, since their music is not his type, he wants me to watch it alone. After knowing the feedback of last night's concert, I decided to buy my ticket today. Down below the Hard Rock hotel are shrimping boats who sell shrimp. The sign looks like this:We bought 15 lbs of the medium size which they sold for $2.00. They were sold to us by those Vietnamese who have shrimping business.

That is the garage of Hard Rock Hotel, back area. It was there that I took the pictures that I posted in {VIEW BEHIND HARDROCK OF BILOXI}.

When we bought the watermelon two weeks ago, we bought other fruits and vegetables too. A basket of Peaches for $12, water melon $9 for 2 pieces, a basket of tomatoes for $6.00, 3 for a $1 - green pepper. You will see these fruits and vegetables sold in some areas of US highway 90.
